Agri-Traçabilité International, a subsidiary of Agri-Traçabilité Québec

Agri-Traçabilité Québec (ATQ) has a worldwide reputation for its expertise and achievements regarding the permanent identification and traceability of agricultural products.

In 2001, Agri-Traçabilité Québec designed a complete mandatory permanent RFID identification and traceability program for Quebec’s dairy and beef industries in less than five (5) months. The system included the completion of an efficient multi-specie database and:
Cow through fence
  • the registration of over 16,000 breeders;
  • the identification of over 22,000 premises;
  • the processing of their tag orders;
  • and the RFID identification and registration of over 1.2 million animals.
In 2004, the system and methodology was extended to Quebec’s ovine industry. As of today:
Sheep and Lamb
  • 20,000 registered producers;
  • 27,000 identified premises;
  • more than 5.3 millions registered animals;
  • 16 million animal movements between premises;
  • over 6 million RFID identifiers sold.
The system is reliable and over the course of the next few years, traceability will be implemented in many other agri-food sectors such as the poultry, cervidae and pork sectors.

With the many projects it has carried out since its creation in 2001, Agri-Traçabilité Québec has developed a high-level of expertise in the permanent identification and traceability of agricultural products: this expertise is now offered through its subsidiary, Agri-Traçabilité International.
